WHY ADOPT A HOMELESS PET?
TO SAVE A LIFE!
According to the Humane Society of the United States over 10 million dogs and cats entered shelters last year. Over half of these animals were euthanized because no one adopted them. Thousands of pets are euthanized every day in this country. Some of these pets are purebread, others are mixtures of various breeds. Adopting from an animal shelter will save the life of an innocent creature whose greatest desire is to find a home and family of its own.
TOP REASONS TO ADOPT AN OLDER DOG
Older dogs are housetrained. You won't have to go through the difficult stage of teaching a puppy not to have accidents in the house.
Older dogs are not teething puppies and won't chew your shoes and furniture.
Older dogs have already learned what "no" means.
Older dogs are good at giving love. Once they get settled into their new home, they are very grateful for the second chance they've been given.
What you see is what you get. Unlike puppies, older dogs have already grown into their shape and personality. Puppies can grow up to be quite different than what they seemed at first.
Older dogs leave you more time for yourself because they don't make the kind of demands on your time that puppies and young dogs do.
Older dogs let you get a good night's sleep because they are accustomed to human schedules and don't generally need nighttime feedings or nighttime potty breaks
