Chiropractic medicine is based on the idea that minor changes to the vertebrae (bones) of the spinal column, called subluxations, can impact overall health. When subluxations occur, movement of the individual bones is altered, thereby disrupting organ function within the body. Once these areas of subluxation are identified, a chiropractic adjustment is made to re-align the vertebrae and promote healing. These manipulations are made with a quick, high velocity, low amplitude thrust to the individual areas in need of adjustment.
Chiropractic adjustments are safe, and usually will require treatments once weekly for a few weeks at our Scituate, MA facility, then can be reduced to once a month or once every couple of months depending on the severity of the problem.
